  • Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity: Funding Opportunities – CRE2 offers an expansive portfolio of funding opportunities that support new and ongoing research to advance our understanding of how race, ethnicity, and equity are integral to the most challenging issues of our global past, present, and futures. These opportunities include a suite of grants, fellowship programs, rotating studios, an innovation space, student paper and research awards, and more.
     
  • Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity: Become a CRE2 Faculty Affiliate – Faculty Affiliate status is open to any full-time faculty on all Washington University campuses with an active interest in race/ethnicity.
     
  • Here and Next: Interdisciplinary Seed Funding – Here and Next supports interdisciplinary research activities at Washington University from concept and team development to securing external funding. Three tiers of seed funding are available.
     
  • Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy: Faculty Research, Support, & Books The Weidenbaum Center supports social science by funding research projects conducted by faculty at Washington University. The Center's primary clients are faculty in the Departments of Economics, Political Science, and Sociology. The highest priority are projects that are collaborative, address frontier social scientific research problems, and will lead to external funding.
     
  • McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences: Resources – Resources from the McDonnell Center for the Space Sciences, including recent research, as well as graduate and postdoctoral fellowships.
     
  • Center for Quantum Leaps: Research – Current research focus areas from CQL.

Resources Outlined in the September 13 Session:

  • SPEED Grants: Program Information Arts & Sciences tenure-track and research faculty are invited to submit proposals for this semiannual internal seed funding program. Yearlong seed grants range up to $50,000 and will support work that leads to a variety of measurable outcomes, such as submissions for external grants; scholarly publications; and significant work disseminated through other methods, such as presentations or performances.
     
  • Transdisciplinary Institute in Applied Data Sciences: TRIADS Seed Grant Program – The TRIADS Seed Grant Program aims to create and support focused transdisciplinary teams pursuing important research that uses quantitative digital tools to understand important societal problems. These funds will bring together researchers across Arts & Sciences and beyond to quickly advance existing research teams, develop projects in new transdisciplinary fields of inquiry, and build communities of potential collaborators around shared questions, methods, and data.
     
  • Center for the Literary Arts: Creative Practice Workshop – The WashU Creative Practice Workshop is an interdisciplinary workshop that provides an opportunity for WashU creative practice faculty across various fields to collaborate, produce, and share work. By drawing from diverse disciplines, the Workshop offers its members a unique community of fellow creative practitioners who can support and challenge each other’s ideas and ambitions, while also providing a semester leave and dedicated workspace for individual scholars.
     
  • Center for the Humanities: Research & Funding Opportunities – Washington University provides significant internal funding to support and encourage research and scholarship at the university. These programs are intended to enhance the ability of WU faculty and students to compete for external funding for their research or creative work. A variety of internally funded opportunities are offered through the Center for the Humanities.
