Workshop: Making Scientific Research Accessible to Public Audiences

Presented by the Program in Public Scholarship.

Arts & Sciences research writer Chris Woolston will address the importance — and challenges — of effective science communication. Drawing on his experience at WashU as well as his 20+ years as a freelance science writer for Nature, the Los Angeles Times, and many other outlets, he will share tips on translating scientific findings to a general audience and crafting a message that will resonate with a wide variety of readers. The Program in Public Scholarship staff will be on hand to work with participants on specific story ideas after the talk.

Lunch will be provided.
